Quick answer

Can I cancel a transaction?

Once it is confirmed, no — by anybody. While it is still pending, sometimes.

A confirmed transaction is final. There is no reversal, no chargeback and no authority that can undo it, and that is a property of the design rather than a missing feature.

While it is still waiting, there is sometimes room. On networks that queue transactions, you can often replace a pending one by sending another from the same wallet with the same sequence number and a higher fee — most wallets expose this as "speed up" or "cancel". It only works before it is included in a block, and it is not guaranteed.

What never works: contacting the network, contacting a wallet developer, or paying anybody who offers to reverse it. The last one is a scam aimed specifically at people in this situation.

If it has already landed somewhere wrong, start here — some of those cases are genuinely recoverable, and which one you are in depends on who controls the destination.
