If it already happened

Something happened and I do not know what to do

Pick the line that describes it. You get the steps in the order they matter, and an honest sentence about what is and is not recoverable. Some of these are thefts; others are money that is stuck rather than gone, and telling those two apart is the first thing each page does. We are not a recovery service, we sell nothing, and there is no form to fill in.

Minutes matter

I signed or approved something and tokens are leaving

A connect, a claim, a "verification". The approval is still valid until it is revoked, so this can continue after you close the page.

Minutes matter

I typed my seed phrase into a site or app

The phrase is the wallet. Assume it is already in somebody else's hands, including for every account it ever created.

First steps →
Minutes matter

Somebody got into my exchange or email account

Fix it in the order the attacker used: the phone number, then the email, then the platform. The other order rarely holds.

First steps →
Today

I sent coins to the wrong address or the wrong network

Some of these are recoverable with effort and some are not. Which one it is depends entirely on who controls the destination.

First steps →
Today

I sent money to a platform or person promising returns

There is one test that settles it in a day, and one rule: never pay a fee to release your own balance.

First steps →
Minutes matter

I installed something or let somebody control my screen

Remote access sees everything: what you type, what you open, and every phrase or code that passes through the machine.

First steps →
Today

The platform froze my account or wants more documents

This happens both to people on a regulated exchange going through a routine check, and to people on a platform that was never going to pay out. The steps are the same until you can tell which one you are on.

First steps →
Today

My withdrawal will not go through

First find out whether it left the platform at all. A withdrawal stuck inside an account and a transaction waiting on the network are two different problems with nothing in common.

First steps →
Minutes matter

A peer-to-peer trade went wrong

Whether anything can be done depends almost entirely on one thing: was the trade inside the platform's escrow, or was it an arrangement in a chat.

First steps →
No rush

My bank blocked the payment or closed my account

Usually this is not about crypto being illegal where you live. It is a monitoring rule, a counterparty the bank does not like, or a question about where the money came from that nobody asked you yet.

First steps →

Whatever happened, nobody who contacts you first can fix it

Lists of people who have just lost money circulate, and are worked through by people offering to trace, freeze or recover funds for a fee. That offer is the second theft, every time. How the recovery scam works.

None of these describe it?

The Risks section covers each pattern in full, and the checklist is the two-minute version.
