Quick answer

How do I check whether a platform is registered?

Go to the regulator's own list yourself. Nothing on the platform's site counts as evidence.

Every claim a platform makes about itself is written by the platform. Licence numbers, certificate images and "regulated by" badges are trivial to fabricate, and cloned sites of real firms exist.

So the check is always the same shape: navigate to the regulator's website yourself, find its register, and search for the company name. Not a link from the platform, not a search result, not a screenshot.

Two things to read carefully once you find it. What the list means — some registers cover anti-money-laundering registration only, which is not the same as being authorised to hold your money, and at least one national list names firms that are merely operating rather than licensed. And which entity is listed, since a group can hold a licence in one country and serve you from another.

Each country page names the relevant authority and links its register, with the date we last checked it.

Last checked 19 Oct 2026.
