Block explorer
A website that reads a network's data directly, letting anyone look up a transaction, address or contract. It is the source that settles arguments about whether a transfer actually happened.

ConfirmationOne block built on top of the block containing your transaction. More confirmations mean a reversal would be more expensive, which is why platforms set a threshold before crediting deposits.
MempoolThe waiting area of broadcast transactions that have not yet been included in a block. A transaction sitting there is pending, not lost.
